The new committee met on 4 December 2017 and the way forward for Dana Bay was discussed.
Mr Tertius Teichert has accepted the invitation to be chairman of the Danabay Residents Committee, Russel Hendry is vice chairman, Zachie Steyn Treasurer and committee members are Hans Viljoen, Twana Roets and Gaby Drews.
First priority is to set up the finances . Zachie Steyn has agreed to set up a new set of financial statements, starting with the previous bank balance as well as an asset register.
In order for Dana Bay to be fully representative on other committees, for example with the Municipality and the Ward committee , it is important to be representative with a respectable number of paid up residents in Dana Bay and we therefore invite all residents to please pay their R50.00 per household membership contribution and attend meetings.
Reciprocal representation between Dana Bay and the Ward Committees is very important in order to know what is happening in every way in and around Dana Bay.
Everyone is welcome to become a member, whether you are a property owner, tenant or a business owner in Dana Bay. Anyone with an interest in Dana Bay is invited to become a member. Membership moneys can be paid in at the Japie Krige Property office, cnr of Flora and Malva road. Strict control is kept over membership money and all moneys are accounted for.
It was agreed that the Chairman has no signing power over expenses, only the Vice Chairman in conjunction with one other committee member. The chairman will only keep an oversight over the committee. In the long term, sub-committees will be set up, e.g. conservation and security.
In order to move forward and Dana Bay to be a well – managed conservation area, continuation of members from the old committee is important and members are welcome to give input and work with the new committee on various issues. If you would like to be involved, please contact Twana at the Japie Krige office.
