Several worthy causes stand to benefit from a novel way of collecting donations at this year’s Dias Festival.

Entry to the festival arena at the Santos Caravan Park is free as usual but festivalgoers who feel that they want to make a contribution, can do so by purchasing a piece of coloured cloth, which will then be attached to a framework of the municipal three sails logo.

The cloths are in the colours of the municipal logo, namely blue, green and orange. The blue cloths will be for donations towards the NSRI, while the green is for the disabled and the orange for animal care.

The pieces of cloth can be bought for R5 each and the aim is to sell enough pieces to fill up the framework and in the process create an interesting version of the municipal logo.

The Festival will continue until Sunday, 1 February 2015. •
