Ulysses Garden Route, proudly hosts the 11th Whale Rally in Hartenbos.
Whale Rally time is always in June, in the middle of the winter, but they always have such a good time that the cold is never a problem.

The Whale Rally is a serious biker’s rally, started in 2005. One of the best biker rallies in South Africa they claim. Not hardcore, just a rally where you can relax, have fun and enjoy an unforgettable weekend with biker friends.

Over the years this rally has grown from strength to strength with around 1500 bikers having attended some years.
All proceeds from the rally are donated to needing Charities within the Ulysses Garden Route boundaries.

Their aim is to host “The Rally” in the Western Cape – considered by many to be the best, and where there is something for everyone to do.

Ulysses Garden Route is rather unique in that it is not centered in a single town or city, as is the case with most of the other chapters. They have members in Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn, George, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay.

Their slogan, “GROW OLD DISGRACEFULLY”. This naturally causes many smiles, much head shaking, finger pointing and respectful disbelief from the uninformed public. No, they say, we are definitely not a bunch of undisciplined hooligans, we just know how to have a good time!

All members are over forty (you can’t join if you are younger).
For them it is the open road, the excitement and the friendship that comes with great companionship of others who wish to enjoy the biking way of life.
